If you don't have a website and want to start your own blog (which isn't needed but I do suggest it), you'll have to get hosting and a domain name. Those can be had for about $5 per month. That's the only money that you have to spend to get started. Affiliate marketing is about companies paying you!
While it's helpful to be able to do a few things, you don't HAVE to be technical at all. There is a method that you can use that you put a piece of code on your website, and never worry about affiliate links again. You can get someone on Fiverr to do that for you. You will need to be able to copy and paste a link, as that will be what lets the company know that you're the one sending them the sale. But if you can copy and paste a link, you should be able to handle this.
Once you've been writing blog posts, sending emails, or writing social media posts, you can do any of them in a short time! You can have a blog post or email written up in an hour or less. You can do a social media post in 5 minutes or less. You'll soon find the thing that takes the longest is coming up with ideas of what to promote and talk about.
I 100% can't answer that. It depends on so many different things. What is your niche? Is it one that has a lot of people? Are they spending money in the niche? I was once in a money saving niche - as in people that didn't want to spend money. That wasn't the best niche in to make money. How often are you posting? How good are your posts? How many people are seeing your blog posts, your emails, or your social media? These are all things that you'll have to take into consideration.
This is what I think: In the beginning you won't make much. Then as you get more posts out there, most emails, and more social media, you'll start to see some money coming in. The longer you do it and the more information you have out there, the bigger your audience will be and the more money you'll make. There are no guarantees that you'll make any money, and this does require work.
Once you've been doing this for a while, you'll be watching affiliate commission come in even when you're sleeping. You'll see that you can start paying some bills will it, and as time goes on, you'll be able to pay more bills with this income. It depends on many things of course, but the more content you have out there, and the more products you're promoting, you'll be making more income.
If you want to keep this at as an extra side income, you can do that and pay some bills with this. If you want to spend more time on it and be able to have this as your sole income, you might be able to do that as well.
The amazing thing about being an affiliate is that you're in charge. You can work when you want, and as much or as little as you want!
